Lindo gatito - Kitty, kitty

Cuando dibujé este gato para las guardas del libro de Paco Martín Sabeliña e os ratos (Ed. Galaxia) me permití un atrevimiento: continuar la historia a través del dibujo. En la historia el gato anhela echarle el diente a un ratón puñetero, pero no llega a hacerle nada. Al final, en la ilustración sí se atreve. Lejos de añadir nada a una obra de Martín (sería un sacrilegio), uno a veces pretende crear "otra" obra paralela (que no supeditada) con las imágenes, sugiriendo nuevas perspectivas, o simplemente estableciendo guiños con el lector.

When I drew this cat for the inside of the cover of one of Paco Martín's books, Sabeliña e os ratos (Galaxia), I felt like doing something polemical: to continue the story through the images. In the story the cat is always trying to eat a mouse which is actually a pain in the ass. But nothing else. Eventually, and only on the illustration, he really eats him. Far from intending to add anything to Martín's works, an illustrator sometimes tries to create "another" paralel work with images, suggesting new points of view, or simply giving the reader some hints.
